Good Morning Groanies,
When I was a kid I never said any “bad words” or “swear
words”. I just didn’t. A lot of kids in school would to
show that they were “cool” and “grown up”, but I just
never saw the point of using those words. Now that I’m
older and have to pay taxes, tolls and bills I see why
they come in handy.
When I was about 10 years old, my parents said that I
could use the word “crap” whenever I felt like it. The
word “crap” was considered to be a “bad word” in my
household. It was a big day for me.
For the next six hours every other word out of my mouth
was “crap” or some variation. If someone asked me how
school was I would answer, “Crappy.” Soon I was saying
things like, “Crap crappity crap crap crap.” I was going
mad with this new edition to my vocabulary.
Then I over stepped my bounds. My Mom asked me how my
dinner tasted and I said, “Crappy!” My parents told me
that I was grounded for a week and my Dad said that I had
to write an apology to my Mother. The only thing I could
said to express how I felt about this was… “Crap.”
The lesson I learned that day was “There’s a time and a
place…”
Well, I hope you learned a little bit about me and as

was a crappy way to end this column. Sorry.
